break out of captivity

What with needing to cram information into my brain and reinforce it by copying it into my blog, I have been neglecting both writing projects, especially my "who they are and why they rock series." Today's celebrant is someone who has been particularly awesome and supportive in the last week or so, compounding her regular awesomeness.

This girl is really like no other. Confident and bullshit-free, she's one of those people who will defend you to the death. Unless you cross her or one of her ladies. Then, watch out. If someone wanted to beat me up, or beat up any one of our friends, Kristina would jump in the way and crow, 'well you're gonna have to get through ME first!" That's just the sort of loyal, fiesty, take-no-prisoners girl she is. Don't eff with her, don't eff with her girls!
She's also a bad-ass writer and quite funny. In fact, that pretty much sums up how we met and why we're friends. We both had blogs on the IRC at the same time, and she took notice of mine (either by mentioning it or sending me a message, I don't remember) before we even met. I had been reading hers because I'd heard a lot about her through the comedy grape vine. Then we both got cast in the 2005 "Vagina Monologues," and finally met in person at a pre-rehearsal meeting late in 2004. She lived up to what I'd heard- loud, funny, aggressive without being obnoxious. Turns out she's also sensitive, smart and a good listener. And she puts together some killer ladies nights!
